A solar panel is one of the most honest objects ever made.

It doesn't generate anything on its own. It simply receives light, and transfers it.
It was designed to be filled — and then to give what it holds to whatever needs it. It cannot hoard energy. It wasn't built to. The moment light hits it, the whole point is to pass that energy on. It's a conduit.

We kept coming back to that.

2 Corinthians 4:7 that talks about carrying something precious in jars of clay (or vessel in the King Jimmy translation) — ordinary, imperfect vessels holding something far greater than themselves. These vessels (we as humans) are designed this way on purpose, so there's no confusion about where the power actually comes from, God. Something infinite in power and nature, being carried by something finite and decaying.

The tension is here, in this reality.

The light doesn't originate within the vessel. The vessel just carries it.
Designed to be empty & filled with something beyond itself. And then be discharged into other devices.
A panel is just glass, cells, and wire — ordinary materials from the earth — but designed in such a way when light hits it, it carries and transfers something it didn't produce on its own.
